In Liebe, Tod, Abendbrot we are told of a bizarre love story: the young daughter of a slaughterer has a sadomasochistic relationship with elderly circus clown Pippo. During one of their lovemaking sessions, an “accident” causes Pippo to lose his life, but Marlene finds her own way to cope with that.
