Remedy follows a young woman from the underground kink clubs of New York City to a commercial BDSM dungeon where her job is to embody the sexual and psychological fantasies of complete strangers.
The woman, referred to only by her working pseudonym “Remedy”, interviews for a job at the dungeon, admitting that her tastes trend toward the submissive. The owner, an active pro-domme herself, hires Remedy exclusively as a dominant, or “top”, as she does not allow new hires to take sub sessions.
REMEDY is the universal story of a woman who gets involved in something that seems manageable, only to find out that it isn’t — yet pride won’t let her walk away.
Based on director Cheyenne Picardo‘s own experiences working as a pro-switch in New York, REMEDY explores the good, the bad, the offensive, the cruel, the hysterical, and the plain weird aspects of the commercial BDSM world, without passing judgment. It does provide insight into what this world is like, but only as fast as Remedy herself gets the information, and no faster.
